April 2009 desktop calendar

Typoapril: April 2009 desktop calendar

I know I haven’t been posting desktop calendars for a while, but that was mostly because I was trying to make ends meet during the winter exam session at my univ (I tell you, working as a web designer in a company and having exams at school is pure evil). Anyway, since I passed everything at last and I have some more free time to work on my personal projects, I decided to go back to the tradition of posting desktop calendars for upcoming months. This time it’s a bit earlier than before and not posted via Smashing Magazine, but directly from my blog. Why? I have my reasons and I decided not to post my newest calendar in Smashing’s collection this month, maybe I will post a calendar for May.

Anyway, here it is, if you like it, let me know, if you don’t let me know, as always feedback is very welcome. Oh, just please don’t write that it’s too dull for spring month like April, because I suppose most calendars this month posted anywhere around will be green and jolly, so I decided to break out from the habit. ;)

P.S. There’s only 1920×1200 widescreen version available on Flickr at the moment, but it scales nicely for smaller widescreen displays and should work well with the non-widescreen displays if you center it with smart scaling, I think.

December 2008 Wallpaper Calendar

december-08-aurora_borealis-calendar-1680x1050.jpg

I’m happy to announce that yes, I made another desktop calendar for the wallpaper and also I’m happy to announce that – yes – just like the November one it’s featured on Smashing Magazine’s Wallpaper Desktop Calendar article.

This time, the inspiration came from aurora borealis effect that can be seen in the northern parts of the world during winter. I was lucky to see aurora borealis live during one of my trips and I must say it’s really stunning. I tried to capture the astonishing view in the wallpaper, but I’m sure that it can’t be done that easy.

Anyway, I hope you like it and it will serve you good. Feel free to drop a line in comment whenever you feel you want to leave me a comment about it or about my work in general.
